Sneak Peek Inside the New MCX

With almost 50,000 more square feet of space and 16,000 additional products in stock, there’s no doubt that the new Marine Corps Exchange is going to be a big hit. We got the inside scoop on some of the new brands to look for across many departments beginning March 14 and, spoiler alert, you are not going to be disappointed.

“We want to ‘wow’ our customer – give them that feel of stateside shopping,” said Chief of Retail & Services, Roycelyn (Rusti) Rausch. “I think Target would be proud to open this store!”


At 89,000 square feet of retail space, this is the largest MCX in the Marine Corps portfolio and designed with one central focus: you, the customer. Throughout the store, relevant departments are co-located such as bikes, sporting goods, and sports nutrition; or toys, infant furniture, and kids apparel. MCXTreme Bikes & More and Four Seasons Gift Shop are relocating to the new store.


All of this, along with 65,000 products lining the shelves, works together to provide a seamless shopping experience for the community. MCX Headquarters invested in significant consumer research and product analysis to meet the unique shopping needs of military personnel and their families.


“The purpose of the exchange, especially overseas, is to give that American connection both professionally and personally for all servicemembers and their families,” explained Kevin McAndrew, Store Manager.


The new store opens March 14, but be sure to stop in for the all-day grand opening celebration on March 16 for activities and over $100K in savings and giveaways. Here are just some of the highlights of what’s new by department.

Mens

Stay on trend with Lucky Brand Jeans and an expanded selection of Dockers shoes. Gentlemen will also find a wider variety of suit jacket styles for dressing up. Additional apparel from favorite brands like The North Face, Columbia Sportswear, and 5.11 Tactical are offered.

Ladies

Democracy and Lucky Brand Jeans are both brand new to the ladies clothing section. The North Face, YMI Jeans, and Levi’s each have fresh picks to add to your wardrobe. Other notable additions to the second-floor departments include Brighton Collectables handbags, Kate Spade New York gift sets, Royal Nomad Jewelry, and an increased assortment of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works products.

Electronics

Get ready for a more interactive shopping experience with functional displays of TVs, Apple products, and Bose speakers. In addition to expanded product offerings, Vive Pro is new to the store for the latest in virtual technology. Be sure to check out the new gaming room, too. A first in any MCX store, this dedicated space features an Xbox, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch for guests to test-drive games.

Cosmetics

A significant expansion of the Prestige Cosmetics Shop adds new brands including Laura Mercier Cosmetics, Too Faced Cosmetics, LLC, Soap and Glory Limited, No7, Honeybee Gardens, and Kiehl's. New to the MCX experience, guests will find convenience in having all cosmetics in one section making it easy to browse both high-end and mass-market brands.

Marine Mart

The Marine Mart has a dedicated section within the new MCX, and the most notable upgrade is the robust assortment of supplements. Many new brands encompass a variety of supplement types including natural, vegan, and Keto-friendly.

Toys

You may want to plan to spend a little extra time in the toy section to fully experience the all-new interactive Nerf target range. Three mobile stations will test your aim and can be adjusted to your experience level. Unfortunately, it won’t qualify you for an expert rifle badge, but it does promise fun and a few laughs.

Home Goods

Home goods and furniture both introduce trendy additions to inspire your abode such as Simplehuman trash cans and an easier way to purchase new furniture from our vendor partner Yellow Box. For a fee, this local Ashley distributor conveniently delivers and assembles purchases in your home.

Shoes

An ultra-organized layout puts a spotlight on the sizable array of the latest styles in footwear. Plus, with athletic shoes separated from casual options, it’s even easier to find exactly what you’re looking for. Find new selections from favorite brands like Brooks Running now available for women and men, kids Hunter Boot, and more styles of Nike.

Food Bar

After working up an appetite from all that shopping, stop by the new food bar for a bite to eat. Featuring a mix of old favorites including burritos, and salads, as well as new options like rice bowls, fresh fruit, hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries, there’s a little something for everyone. Grab a cup of coffee or local Japanese drinks and stay to enjoy in the store or take it to go.
