Young Adult Book Club

The Young Adult Book Club brings teens together to read novels based on a monthly theme, to encourage literacy outside of the classroom, and to let teens enjoy different activities that engage their creative skills. Physical copies of each month’s book will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

April’s Young Adult Book Club pick is Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. Eliza is a shy and friendless teen. However, online she is an anonymously popular webcomic creator. When Eliza meets a new student and fan of her work, her world shifts and is forever changed when her anonymity is shared with the world. This month’s title explores sensitive topics related to mental health.

At our meeting, participants will be able to create their own comic books. All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

Open to young adults ages 12–17
