There are ample opportunities to volunteer your time and skills while stationed in Iwakuni. Volunteering benefits both you and the community. While you add skills to your resume, or get your “foot in the door” with a new organization, you are also contributing to making MCAS Iwakuni the wonderful community that it is. Volunteers can participate in various areas; (i.e. chalking the field, moving equipment, helping students in the classroom, decorating for parties, and assisting with concessions). They have the opportunity to volunteer every month or 2-3 times a month it depends on what event is going on at the schools. There have been times when events are every week throughout the end of school year. All volunteers must fill out background check at the school front office.

FAMILY READINESS ASSISTANTS AND ADVISORS

Work closely with your Unit Family Readiness Officer & Unit Command Team to enhance the Readiness of the Unit Marines, Sailors, and family members.

READINESS AND DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT

Participate with the planning and execution of programs designed for spouses, children and servicemembers as they face the many challenges of constant readiness and deployment.

L.I.N.K.S. MENTOR

L.I.N.K.S. mentors are needed for each of the L.I.N.K.S programs. These volunteer opportunities allow you to share your knowledge and experience with others. For example, a military spouse may mentor a spouse that is new to Japan or the military.

Here at Semper Fit we have a variety of volunteer opportunities for Marines, Sailors, and their families. We are always looking for Youth Sport coaches for soccer, baseball, flag football, basketball, cheerleading and the swim team.
