MCCS HR Classes Open to the Community

Cynthia Barnett | Employee Developement

MCCS Human Resources’ Employee Development Section features a world-class training program that supports excellence and meets our customers’ needs. While MCCS employees have had the opportunity to participate in Employee Development classes, in 2017 we are excited to extend our class offerings to the MCAS Iwakuni community for a nominal fee per session; $15 for half-day classes and $30 for full-day classes.

Our expanded training offerings include classroom and hands-on practical training conducted by professional facilitators who bring a depth of experience to your instruction. Our goal is to provide professional education opportunities and improve individual and organizational performance. We tailor training to meet your specific needs, and we train to proficiency. All are welcome to enroll in our comprehensive training programs.

TECHNOLOGY COURSES

Our computer classes are designed to teach you the basics, in a relaxed self-paced environment. If you want to learn how to use Microsoft Office 2016, you’ve come to the right place. We offer Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for levels from beginning to advanced. The training is held in our onsite computer lab located in Building 411. We also offer consultations to discuss your training needs.
WRITING COURSES

MCCS Employee development teaches Naval Correspondence in both English and Japanese. Naval correspondence prescribes uniform standards for the management and preparation of correspondence and applies to all commands and activities of the Department of the Navy. Our courses will improve your professional and military knowledge while providing pertinent details for preparing official documents in the workplace.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

We offer interpersonal skills classes to include Connecting Generations and Peer Today, Boss Tomorrow. Our Interpersonal Skills courses provide self-awareness and teach the tools for positive interaction in the workplace. For the first time in our work history, our workforce is comprised of four generations working together. Connecting Generations will teach you how each generation is identified and defined while exploring which traits are commonly associated with each generation, and how that impacts the workplace. Peer Today, Boss Tomorrow is a one-day workshop designed to guide participants to better ensure a successful transition from co-worker to supervisor.
